Frequently Asked Questions
What is Divvy?
Divvy let's you pool tokens to gift to someone important to the community.
That could be a dev, an artist, an influencer, or community member.
They dont need a wallet or any crypto knowledge – they just log in with their X account and claim the tokens.
Why did you create Divvy?
We like the idea of meme creators participating in the success of their memes, even if they aren't in crypto.
We also like the idea of bringing greater transparency and accountability to token distributions.
And we also wanted an easy way to see who is backing a project, especiaally if there are multiple PVP versions of the same meme.
For those reasons and more, we created Divvy. We hope it will be a new crypto social primative and look forward to seeing all of the creative ways people use it.
I have tokens I want to send. How do I start?
Start with the "send" button on the home page. Then:
(1) Pick the token you want to send & the @usernames you want to send to
(2) Create the onchain pool
(3) Fund the pool yourself and/or invite others to fund it
(4) Invite the recipients to claim their tokens
I received an invite to claim. What do I do?
It's pretty straightforward, but we're here to answer any questions you have:
(1) Log in with the same X account you received the invite with
(2) Review the pool invite(s) you received
(3) If you choose to accept any, the tokens will move to your portfolio.
(4) Track the token value, and sell some tokens when you want to cash out.
What happens to the tokens after they are claimed?
They belong to the recipient. They can hold them or sell them. In the future, we'll offer more nuanced ways to distribute tokens like vesting pools.
What are your fees? What's it for?
Our only fee is paid in community tokens, as a 15% percent add on when the pool is created. So if you gift someone 1% of tokens, we get 0.15%.
We'll use that to pay for servers, data APIs, marketing growth, and to support the project. We also sponsor gas for some of the transactions to ensure a snooth experience.
